[EXCERPT:  MassMEDIC Release, April 16, 2019]

“Last week, MassMEDIC joined affiliated life science partners from across Greater Boston for an MVPvets veteran’s career workshop at Abiomed headquarters in Danvers, Mass.

MVPvets is a organization that seeks to help military veterans transition into a career in life sciences through 1-to-1 mentoring, education and job matching. The program started in 2012 through a partnership, between Abiomed and AdvaMed and has since expanded into its own non-profit organization.

At the career workshop last week, one of four programs MVPvets will be holding in the Boston area this year, veterans learned about a diverse array of topics, including personal finance, mentoring advice, as well as an overview of the medical device industry. Eventually, many in the career workshop will transition into a career in the medtech industry.

MassMEDIC is proud to work with MVPvets on this critical program for our returning veterans and we hope you will too. If you’re a veteran willing to mentor other veterans on transitioning in to the medtech industry, please click here.

In addition, we’re thrilled to be a part of helping MVP vets hold its second career workshop at DeviceTalks Boston in June, where we’ll be holding our MedTech Showcase on June 5th-6th. The MVPvets program will be held on June 6th, the 75th anniversary of D-Day.

If you’re interested in supporting efforts to help this career workshop by supporting scholarships for veterans, please contact the organizers of DeviceTalks and ask them about how you can help out.”
