Transitioning Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines, Coast and National Guard and honorably discharged veterans join MVP to pursue a purposeful and fulfilling career in the life sciences with guidance from experienced mentors, in-person and cutting edge virtual training, industry recognized certifications, and networking. The career focus for veterans is in areas where they can leverage their military experience; business functions such as manufacturing, human resources, marketing, project and program management, supply chain, operations, etc.
What’s not to love about being part of an industry that has positively influenced the lives of so many? Still, when it comes to actually landing that just-right job, veterans need every competitive edge they can get. Learning from respected professionals and mentors who are veterans themselves about the business, science, and technology associated with working in a MedTech and BioTech company takes veterans to the front of the line as high-potential talent.
Watch a brief interview with a veteran who has recently "graduated" MVPvets and is now serving as a Mentor.
All you have to do to get started is:
MVP is the flagship program for transitioning veterans who are interested in a career within MedTech, BioTech, and Life Sciences industries.
MVP also offers job-readiness training to all participating veterans, even those who don’t envision themselves working in sciences.
Life Collaborative Certificate Based Online Learning: Successfully completing the eLearning programs in the Life Collaborative (the Professional Development component of MVP) gives the participating veteran a Certificate of Achievement (or Record of Professional Development) with assigned Professional Development Units. Adding this to your resume is tangible proof to a hiring manager that you are the right fit for their company. Learn more about the Life Collaborative Programs, which have been developed by industry leaders, by visiting www.LifeCollaborative.com and clicking the "Programs" pull-down menu.
Interactive Assessments: The People Style Profile, My Action Plan and My Workplace Style Profile give veterans the insight they need to engage successfully in civilian team settings.
Mentor Labs: MVP’s online Mentor Labs help veterans explore job function topics like project management, sales, government affairs, information technology and so many other areas sought by today’s MedTech and BioTech companies. Each of these labs is filled with tailored advice, tools, templates, articles, webinars and other resources provided by real-world professionals who are not only experts on the topic, but are former military themselves. These labs give veterans the language and context needed to engage constructively on a professional level.
eCommunity: This is the go-to place since the community allows veterans to engage with others who are also pursuing their next career AND because veterans can take advantage of unique career development resources. The eCommunity is a way to network with others, stay up-to-date on industry news and announcements, watch videos, download resources, and attend regional or national industry specific events.
Resume Posting: Participating veterans can post up to 10 resumes in MVP’s exclusive resume database which is then viewed by Human Resource professionals and others actively recruiting to fill job openings. This allows you to target specific job functions that MedTech and BioTech companies are posting.
Job Matching: The advanced job matching feature links your skills and objectives with jobs that are open in supporting companies. All you need to do is complete your Professional Profile Page after you sign up.
No Fees: There is no cost for MVP Veterans. All you have to do is simply answer some qualifying questions. The people behind MVPvets are former military themselves who are now working in the MedTech and BioTech industries and have committed themselves to building a bridge to meaningful employment for those of us who have also served our country. This isn’t a hand-out or a charity. The resources available to you via MVP are worth between $1500 to $3500, and the costs are covered by the companies that support MVP.
